GUIDES & HOW-TO
Clear instructions for ordering decals, changing products, building custom graphics, using window masks, managing projects and making changes from your account.
Standard decal products
Scale, measure, colours, crop and project tools
Scale
The scale control changes the physical size of the decal sheet artwork. For example, moving a product from 1/10 to 1/8 makes the graphics larger; moving to a smaller scale makes them smaller. The product preview and price update with the selected size.
Measure Decal Size
Use Measure Decal Size when you want to confirm the finished size of a logo, stripe, number or other part of the sheet before ordering. Turn Measure on, then drag the blue measurement frame over the part you want to check. Drag the frame to reposition it and use its handles to resize it. The measurement shown is based on the currently selected scale, so you can change scale and immediately check whether the graphic will fit your body.
Measure does not change your order. The blue measurement frame is only a measuring tool. It does not crop the sheet, change the price or limit what you receive. Use the IN / CM selector to display the measurement in inches or centimetres.
Change Colours
Use the colour controls to replace the printed colours shown in the artwork with colours from the MCI colour system. The on-screen background is only a preview aid; standard decals are printed on clear film unless the product specifically says otherwise.
Crop
Crop lets you purchase only the part of a sheet you need. Move the crop lines around the graphics you want and check the displayed crop size before adding the item. Only the decals and material inside the crop lines are supplied. A one-time crop fee is shown when cropping is active.
Add to Project
Use Add to Project when the item belongs to a larger build. Projects let you collect standard products, custom graphics and saved design work together so you can return later without rebuilding the project from scratch.
Color palettes
Build a colour plan once and reuse it across your project
What a Palette Does
A saved palette is your own reusable group of MCI print colours. Use it to keep several decal sheets, logos and custom graphics coordinated without searching through the entire colour list every time.
Apply a Palette to a Standard Sheet
Open a standard decal product and choose Use Colour Palette. Select one of your saved palettes, then use those palette colours when replacing the original colours on the sheet. The palette limits your working colour choices to the set you saved, making it much faster to match the rest of your build.
Random with a Palette
If a palette is selected, the Random tool chooses from your selected palette rather than the entire MCI colour library. This lets you quickly try different combinations while staying inside your chosen colour scheme.
Order a Physical Palette Sample
You can also order a printed palette sample so you can see the actual MCI printed colours in person. This is the best way to judge subtle colour differences because phones, tablets and computer screens can display the same colour differently.
Screen colours are a guide only. A physical printed palette is the most reliable reference when an exact colour choice matters.
Window masks & frames
Start with the fitted window shape, then choose what you want made
MCI window products begin with window shapes fitted to a specific body. From there, you can use the builder to create either painting masks or printed window graphics.
Window Masks
A window mask is a pre-cut shape used while painting. Apply the mask to the inside of the clear body, paint the body, then remove the mask to leave the window area clear. The mask itself is a temporary painting tool, not a decorative sticker.
Window Frames / Printed Windows
Printed mode turns the window geometry into a decal. You can choose the window colour and add outlines to create a frame around the window. Use the outline controls to build one or two frame borders and adjust their thickness. If you choose to leave the window clear, the printed frame surrounds the clear centre rather than filling the entire window.
Spread Pieces
If the individual window pieces are crowded together in the preview, Spread Pieces separates them for easier viewing and editing. It changes the working layout, not the fitted shape of each individual window.
Check the mode before ordering: choose the mask/stencil option when you need paint masks; choose the printed/sticker option when you want finished window decals or frames.
Important difference
STENCILS ARE FOR PAINTING. STICKERS ARE THE FINISHED GRAPHIC.
Stencil / Mask Order
You receive pre-cut shapes intended to be positioned on the body or surface while painting. The stencil blocks paint in selected areas. After painting, the stencil is removed.
- Temporary production tool
- Used to mask areas before paint
- Removed after painting
- Not intended to look like the finished printed decal
Sticker / Printed Decal Order
You receive the printed graphic itself. It is applied as the finished decoration and remains on the model.
- Finished visual graphic
- Printed in the selected colours
- Applied after or as part of finishing the body
- Remains on the model
Do not order a stencil expecting a printed sticker. They are different products made for different steps of the build.
Keep a build together
Using Projects
Projects are your workspace for a complete RC build. Add products to a project as you shop, save custom logo sheets and design work, then return from your account later. This is useful when you are collecting several decal sheets, logos, window graphics or custom items for the same car.
Saving to your account keeps reusable artwork such as custom logos available in your personal library. Saving to a project keeps the items associated with that particular build.
Your MCI Racing account
Orders, projects, saved work and customer messages
Your account is more than an order-history page. Use it to reopen orders, follow order progress, access projects and saved design work, and communicate with MCI Racing.
Changing an order
While an eligible paid order is still in the Order Received / On Hold stage, the account can show controls such as Add Products, Modify Order and Request Cancellation. Once production has moved into Printing, those editing controls are no longer available.
- Add Products starts an additional purchase that stays connected to the original master order.
- Modify Order sends MCI the exact changes you want. Nothing is changed automatically.
- Request Cancellation sends a cancellation request for review; it does not instantly cancel or refund the order.
- A submitted modification or cancellation request places the affected order on print hold while MCI reviews it.

Vector files, saved logos and your own fonts
For the most editable results, load a true SVG vector file. SVG artwork stays sharp at any size and lets the builder work with individual shapes. AI, EPS, PDF or CDR vector files can be converted to SVG first; PNG and JPG images must be vectorized rather than simply renamed.
After cleaning a logo, use Save to Account so it appears in your personal logo library and can be placed on future custom sheets.
Add your own font
Signed-in customers can add supported TTF, OTF, WOFF or WOFF2 font files to their own account. Personal fonts stay private to that customer and appear in the Text & Numbers font choices. Only upload fonts you have permission to use.
